iKapa Energy seeks to contribute to the desired outcomes of the South African Government’s National Development Plan (NDP), Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) and other government programmes to stimulate socio-economic development through security of energy supply by designing, developing & participating in projects with financial, construction, operations & maintenance partners to collectively deliver and monetize the following types of projects:
• Clean Energy (Baseload, Mid-merit & Peaking):
– Gas-powered Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT)
– Gas-powered Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT)
– Gas-powered Reciprocating Engines / Generator Sets (GenSets)
– Gas sourcing, transporting, storing, processing & supply, with a particular focus on gas as primary energy resource for power generation, industrial process heat, transport & communities (GaSS)
• Renewable Energy:
– Carbon Capture & Sequestration (CCS)
– Biomass to Electricity (BTE)
– Waste to Electricity (WTE)
– Solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) [Ground-mounted & Rooftop]
– Wind [Ground-mounted & Rooftop]
– Combined Heat & Power (CHP)
– Biomass to Biofuels (BTL)
– Energy Storage
– Solar Tracking System [Ground-mounted only]
• Security of Energy Supply:
– We are actively developing projects to contribute our solutions to deal with the challenges of the present and future electricity supply constraints by introducing new utility-scale electricity generation as close to end-users as possible, including off-grid energy solutions.
